Mini-Coopers and Oatmeal

Thanks to everyone who filled out the 360Reach survey, designed to help me figure out my personal brand.  There are two questions that are particularly fun:

  1. If Carol Ross were a car, what type would she be, and why?
  2. If Carol Ross were a type of breakfast cereal, what type would she be, and why?

A number of people mentioned Mini-Cooper or VW beetle. And the most often mentioned car was….drum roll, please….a Volvo. No wonder that the real Volvo that I drive, a red S70 seems to fit so well!

On the breakfast cereal, I had a chuckle as one of the themes that emerged was something to the effect of "doesn’t always taste great but you know it’s good for you."  There were other themes–Frosted Mini-Wheats (two-sides) and Rice Crispies (snap, crackle, pop). I also found out from one of my friends, a former chief marketing officer for Kellogg, that Fruit Loops is actually spelled Froot Loops. My kids have been eating that forever and I never even noticed the spelling.

Two coaches who I sent the survey to decided to jump in and look at their own personal brand. I received email asking me to fill out surveys for them in the last week. The small ripple of personal branding continues outward….
