A friend emailed me this delightful story:
"Ever since I read Power of Now, I have been trying hard to "stay in the moment" and "live in the now." Maybe too much so.
My six-year old daughter had Friday off from school, so we spent a "girls’ day" together. We went through her closet cleaning out those things too small or not right and then went on a shopping trip–with a list of what she really needed. She was seeing all sorts of things not on the list – night gowns, jewelry, back packs.
I said, "Let’s stick to the list and wait on the other things. Your birthday and Christmas are not that far away."
She looked up at me and said, "I prefer to shop in the now!""
