Technology and Learning in Schools

Just found this blog of a teacher at a local high school in the Denver area who leverages technology in schools. Not as in "let’s get some more computers."  But as in "how can we use technology, not to do the same stuff, but to do something new?"

This is the same message that Seth Godin has in his new book, Meatball Sundae.  The medium is new, which enables something completely different to be provided, whether it’s education or marketing or product development.

Here’s a great example from the blog by the teacher:  A video conference between Dan Pink, author of A Whole New Mind and over a 100 students in the teacher’s classes who had read Pink’s book. Plus a live blog and chat that allowed others to join in the conversation. How cool is that?

I initially heard about this teacher’s school because they’ve asked all their teachers to read the book, A Whole New Mind. One thing leads to another and before I know it, I’ve come back to something else that fascinates me. Isn’t that the nature of the Internet?
