Twitter and the Cigar Bar

My friend, Mitchell Ashley, writes about how Twitter is changing the way conference goers are connecting with a post about an impromptu gathering at a cigar bar reinforced  with a few tweets. I’m finally starting to understand the power of Twitter, as a way to gather/mobilize individuals in real time. Clay Shirkey, in the  book, Here Comes Everybody, makes the same point with a story about political dissidents and a tweet in the middle of being arrested.

What’s your favorite story about Twitter and what it can do?
