Check out my updated Squidoo lens: http://www.squidoo.com/wholebrainthinking/
Last year, I was one of the first 10,000 or so people to create a Squidoo lens. There are now over 68,000 lenses. Squidoo is a platform for enthusiasts on a specific topic to show what they know, and at the same time provide a service to those who are interested in learning more about that topic. A lens can be about someone’s grandfather who survived Auschwitz or about what to tell your wife to get that big plasma TV you’ve been eyeing in the Best Buy ads or the finding out everything related to the Beatles.
Squidoo makes its money by placing Google ads on the lens that are related to the lens topic. This wasn’t apparent when they started the beta last year, but now it’s pretty obvious. As the lens master, I can’t pick the ads but I do get a small percentage of the revenue when someone clicks on the ad. The more popular the lens, the more likely an ad will get clicked on, the more revenue the lens produces.
My lens is about whole brain thinking. I list postings from this blog (category: Leading With A Whole New Mind), books related to right-brain thinking, and links to websites of individuals who are passionate about bringing the creative right brain into a left-brain world.
After writing a few paragraphs over a year ago, I’ve invested time into making the lens what I initially dreamed of–a place to go for people who are interested in this thing called whole brain thinking but aren’t sure where to start. I try to use my own journey to guide others.
I’ll be adding more throughout the year. If you want to help shape the lens, let me know what you’d want to see that’s not already there.
