Books for a Better Life

Two books that I recommend, both antidotes to Mr. Scrooge’s nightmare of reaching the end of a lifetime with significant regrets:

  • Five Wishes by Gay Hendricks. This is a quick read that you can easily get through in an evening. What will take longer is to implement your insights from reading the book. Hendricks weaves a delightful tale of his own awakening to what’s important with a simple structure for helping you do the same. Hendricks is the author of more than 20 books and is also a co-founder of the Spiritual Circle Cinema, an organization devoted to connecting great spiritual-themed movies with a community that hungers for spiritual nourishment.
  • Choose Your Life! by Jim Huling. This book provides not only the tools for waking up to what you want in your life, but also how to stay the course once you’ve made the commitment to it. I previously blogged about the author, as part of his book was published as an article in Motto magazine.  His style of personal development is infused with the logical business thinking that comes with being a CEO of an IT company.  If you need structure to provide focus and discipline, Huling’s book will appeal to you.
