Two Protons Walk Into a Black Hole….

A Wall Street Journal article points to a group of physicists, working on a renown project, the Large Hadron Collider, who are learning improv and taking comedy classes. Why? To hone their skills in communicating about their work to the public, to become more adept at problem-solving quickly and to help them think more creatively about some of the biggest mysteries in physics (e.g., why 95% of the universe seems to be missing.)

In other words, the right brain, where play happens, has a lot to offer to a left-brain environment of intense research physicists.

For a more whimsical view on combining right brain with left brain, see the YouTube rap video about the Large Hadron Collider.   Uh, yeah. Good thing they are holding on to their day jobs….
