As I was journaling this morning, I came up with a set of questions that was revealing about the current state of my life:
- What am I attracting? The list ranged from "friends who are struggling with teens" to "laughter–with my kids, my husband, my clients, my colleagues" to "great executive coaching clients." I also had stuff on the list that I didn’t know what to make of it. For example, I seem to be attracting attorneys as potential clients.
- What am I not attracting that I would like to attract? This was a fairly short list but included big items like "website/branding help." (I’m embarking on a summer project to come out with the next version of my website–likely to be split into multiple websites.)
- What am I attracting that I don’t want? People who are interested in coaching but who are not ready to jump in. Okay, maybe I have a bias for a short sales cycle. Or maybe I’m just not good at closing the sale. The truth is, I’d much rather have people contact me when they are ready.
This short exercise has raised my awareness about being intentional in my thoughts, based on the concepts of The Law of Attraction.
I tried these questions with a coaching client today and it moved the conversation to a wonderful point of clarity. I’m hoping it will do the same for you.

Hi carol you inspired a little today, you inspired the desire in me to start a coaching practice that sounds like fun. I love to write about the law of attraction but I never thought of teaching verbally too.
Have you ever considered that the better you become at sales the better you will be able to serve your clients- once you get them as a client you sale them on changing themselves.
Either way I’m routing for ya

Hi Carol,
The 3 questions are really powerful.
I can’t wait to use them in my own life’s situation.
Thanks a million.

That is hilarious! I’m an attorney and read your blog – a lot of us are not completely satisfied with the way we have let other forces pull us down a life and job path until we woke up a few years later and said “huh?” – lots of attorneys want to fix their lives.
